Severe traffic disruption France - update

We are pleased confirm that following flight disruption on Saturday 30th December caused by heavy snowfall in France affecting local roads, all rescheduled flights to and from the UK have arrived.

We recognise the impact the delays have had on our customer’s holiday and would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. The safety of our customers and staff is always of paramount importance and we worked hard to ensure our customers were able to travel home or to their resort at the earliest convenience.

Severe traffic disruption France - update

Following the heavy snowfalls in France on Saturday 30th December we would like to apologise to all our customers who have been delayed returning home or travelling to resort. The safety of our customers and staff is of paramount importance and we are working closely with local authorities to ensure guests travel home or to their resort at the earliest convenience.

We proactively delayed flight departures yesterday Saturday 30th December, to try to minimise the number of customers affected by the poor weather, which will now depart today, 31st December.  A revised flying programme has been created, with all new flight times listed below.

For those customers who have missed the flights home which were scheduled to depart yesterday, we have secured additional return flights for today, 31st December and flight and transfer times will be advised directly as soon as these are available.

Further updates will be issued as information becomes available either by text message or via the @crystalski twitter account

Should customers in resort have any questions, they can speak to their holiday rep in resort or call us on our 24/7 holiday line on 03333 365147 from the UK and 0044 3333 365147 from overseas.

We ask that the 24/7 number, email and text contact details are only to be used by customers currently in resort. Any customers yet to travel should speak to our UK based customer service team.

Severe traffic disruption France - update

Following heavy snowfalls in France there has been severe traffic disruption including some police enforced road closures in and out of ski resorts.  This has delayed customer transfers both to and from Chambery airport via road.  

We have proactively delayed flight departures from Chambery this afternoon, Saturday 30th December, to try to accommodate the transfer delays and therefore minimise the number of customers missing flights home.

For those customers who have missed the flights home which departed today, we have secured return flights for 31st Dec which will depart from Lyon. We have sourced temporary overnight accommodation and new flight and transfer times will be advised directly as soon as these are available.

To ensure the safety and comfort of our customers, Crystal Ski Holidays in partnership with our airlines, have chosen to postpone six flights from the UK to Chambery which were due to operate on Saturday 30th December and these will now operate  on Sunday 31st December.

Customers who were due to depart from the UK have been notified and provided with overnight accommodation as appropriate.

Due to the transfer difficulties for customers arriving today, we have a number of customers who have not been able to transfer from Chambery airport to their holiday accommodation.  Crystal Ski Holidays have sourced limited accommodation near Chambery Airport, which is being prioritised for families with children under three years and those with additional assistance requirements.  The Red Cross is also setting up accommodation at Chambery and nearby towns.

The safety of our customers and staff is of paramount importance and we are working closely with local authorities to ensure guests travel home or to their resort at the earliest convenience.

Severe traffic disruption France

Following heavy snowfalls in France there has been severe traffic disruption including some police enforced road closures into and out of ski resorts. As a result ski transfer coaches have been seriously delayed. We have held back some flights due to depart Chambery this afternoon to try and accommodate the transfer delays and therefore minimise the number of customers missing flights home. This resulted in delays to scheduled departures for many customers.

For those customers who have not been able to make the flights home, we are currently confirming new flight times for tomorrow and temporary overnight accommodation is being sourced.

Additionally Crystal Ski Holidays in partnership with our airlines, have chosen to postpone six flights from the UK into Chambery this afternoon until tomorrow. Customers who were due to depart from the UK have been notified and provided with overnight accommodation as appropriate.

Chambery airport is currently very overcrowded and we believe by postponing these six UK flights, it will limit the already high number of customers at the airport. The continued traffic situation into and out of ski resorts means that we are holding all customers in Chambery to avoid the risk of transfer coaches and customers being stuck in gridlocked roads overnight. Temporary accommodation is currently being sourced for those customers at Chambery airport.
