The Hotel New Solarium and the Hotel Des Neiges in Courchevel 1850, France, are the first hotels in the Lodges & Mountain Hotels group to be rewarded a GOLD Award by the international organisation Travelife. A prerequisite for this award is the strict compliance with all the criteria of sustainability that helps hotels to improve the way they manage their social as well as environmental issues.
The gold award means that the hotel management must show that they lead the way and have an active environmental policy, publish regular reports on their sustainability actions, treat their staff fairly and with respect as well as helping local people.
Sophie Roskam, Directrice General Lodges & Mountain Hotels, said: “Our teams were already environmentally-conscious in their private lives, so taking it to a professional level was the logic thing to do. It is our responsibility to offer our customers quality holidays while respecting the local community and the environment. They worked incredibly hard for several months to achieve the award. We had to do it and we were not scared to do so! Therefore we are delighted to receive this Travelife certification and will continue to work towards improving our hotels.”
Travelife is a travel industry-led scheme launched in 2007 in partnership with tour operators like TUI Travel, Thomas cook and many others, endorsed by ABTA.
