To make it easier for winter holidaymakers from the Birmingham area to get direct flight access to the winter sport resorts of Ruka, Salla and Iso Syöte in Finnish Lapland, Crystal Ski Holidays has added a new flight route from Birmingham to Kuusamo in Finland for winter 2018/19.
Families and adventurers love Lapland because of the huge range of winter activities on offer. From dog sledding to reindeer sleigh rides, snowmobile safaris to ice fishing plus a chance to see the Northern Lights. And of course, if travelling at Christmas time, a visit to Santa in his secret cottage is a must.
Finland is a fantastic place to learn to ski – there’re excellent English-speaking ski schools, plenty of gentle slopes and consistent snow coverage all the way to May. Those progressing to intermediate and advanced won’t be bored either as there are several steeper runs through magical frozen trees and some of the finest terrain parks. The slopes are quiet, even late in the afternoon you can take your pick of freshly-groomed runs, and the lifts stay open late. This means you don’t have to take a day off from skiing if you want to try other activities.
“With large investment in Ruka, with new express chairs and gondolas being built for 2018/19, it’s great to see our long standing partnership with Crystal Ski Holidays continues to grow with the addition of this new flight. Ruka remains committed to becoming the best family ski resort in the world with the most reliable, non-glacier snow conditions. We know, the British love this and are looking forwards to welcoming more of them next season.” – Ville Aho CEO of Ruka Ski Resort.
“During the winter season 2017/18 we’ve seen an increase of UK holidaymakers to Lapland and we are delighted to have a direct connection now for skiers to experience this unique destination. Ruka, Salla and Iso Syöte are snow sure, great to learn to ski and they also offer a huge number of other activities.“ – Michael Brabin, Senior Purchasing Manager Crystal Ski Holidays.
“The Brits are our favourite customers, they really show their appreciation of our snow and service level. Having the new flights from Birmingham is really important for us. We will have a blast together with our new guests.” – Mats Lindfors CEO Ruka-Kuusamo Tourist Association.
The price for a holiday starts from £484 per person (based on four sharing) for a seven-night’s stay at the four-star Ruka Suites in Ruka with flights from Birmingham to Kuusamo and transfers (this price is for departure on 6 January 2019).
