Not one, not two, not three, but SIX GOLD awards for ski hotels

Travelife Award for Lodges & Mountain Hotels and Hotels & Altitude in France and Austria

In 2014, two ski hotels were rewarded the GOLD Award by the international organisation Travelife and today, the remaining four hotels have been presented with this highly regarded environmental and social accolade.

The gold awarded hotels are

- Hotel Banyan in St Anton, part of Lodges & Mountain Hotels
- Hotel New Solarium in Courchevel, part of Lodges & Mountain Hotels
- Hotel Cachette in Les Arcs, part of Hotels & Altitude
- Hotel Diva in Tignes, part of Hotels & Altitude
- Hotel Terra Nova in La Plagne, part of Hotels & Altitude
- Hotel Viking in Morzine, part of Hotels & Altitude

To gain Travelife Gold certification the hotel must meet their 150 sustainability criteria. This includes environmental issues, such as minimising their waste and use of energy, water and chemicals, as well as taking positive action on social issues, such as employee welfare, working with the local community, child protection and human rights. They must also show how they are helping to support local businesses and protect local traditions and wildlife.

Sophie Roskam, directrice générale Lodges & Mountain Hotels and Hotels & Altitude: “Our responsibility is to offer our customers quality holidays while respecting the local community and the environment and as our teams were already environmentally-conscious in their private lives, taking it to a professional level was the logic thing to do. We’ve worked incredibly hard for several months to achieve this Travelife certification and are delighted to have received six times gold.”

Gordon Ritter, purchasing director Crystal Ski Holidays: “We at Crystal are absolutely committed to meeting our social and environmental responsibilities. We have a carbon management strategy in place to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, covering aviation, major premises, ground transport and flagship hotel properties which includes our partner Lodges & Mountain Hotels. Congratulations to the team for this huge success.”
