With Thomson Lakes & Mountains summer 2015 brochure launching today, Europe’s cultures, terrains and foods are here to be explored.

The new programme features over 70 resorts in Europe’s lakes and mountains regions in Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, and Switzerland.

New for summer 2015
– three new destinations in Italy: Lake Levico, Madonna di Campiglio and Val di Fassa;
– two new Discovery packages: Flavours of Italy and Italian Cities;
– inclusion of TripAdvisor ratings in the brochure and on the web.

Lake Levico, 120km north of Verona near Trento, one of Italy’s cleanest lakes and resembling a Norwegian fjord, is one of the new destinations. It is ideal for those who like water sports, thermal treatments and there are plenty of castles and forts to explore. Along its north bank, there is the ‘strada dei pescatori’ (fishermen’s walk) protected by shady trees, which is ideal for walks on hot summer days.

The chic resort of Madonna di Campiglio in the Benta Dolomite mountains is a picture-perfect spot for walkers, bikers and nature lovers alike. It’s a high-end resort with several Michelin-starred chefs and award-winning restaurants, but there are also traditional rifugio or agriturismo who serve delicious local Italian food.

Scenic walking trails and world renowned hiking routes web the seven villages of the Val di Fassa in the Dolomites, a valley rich in fauna and flora. Campitello and Canazei are the main resorts in this UNESCO Heritage Site. Be sure to sample some traditional Ladin cuisine like the canederli (dumplings with speck and cheese).

The new Flavours of Italy and the Italian Cities Discovery packages give travellers the opportunity to sit back and let someone else do the hard work while they focus on exploring the region. Choose from a variety of hotels as your base and enjoy an array of excursions, with flights and transfers included. The Flavours of Italy Discovery package includes a wine tour to taste the famous wines and sample some of the local food specialities. The starting price is from £595 per person at the Hotel Castell in Limone with half-board, departure 6 May 2015.

Italian Cities Discovery package includes a day trip to Venice and a day experiencing the culture and fashion of Milan … and maybe some shopping? The starting price is from £585 per person at the Hotel Lago di Garda in Garda with breakfast, departure 6 May 2015.

New for 2015 are ‘any day arrivals’ to Switzerland. Customers will not only have the flexibility of travelling when it suits them but also the opportunity to pick the best priced flights.

Durations for holidays can be 3 or 4 nights, one week, 10 or 11 nights, or even 2 weeks. And when one place isn’t enough, try a two-resort or even two-country holiday.
Thomson continues to feature a range of Premium holidays to selected accommodation in picturesque locations offering high standard of service, excellent facilities and fine food.
