The new Crystal Summer brochure, launched today, offers beach resorts with miles of sun-kissed coastline in the Adriatic, Ionian, Aegean, Balearic, Tyrrhenian Sea as well as the Sea of Crete and offers five new beach destinations in Greece, Portugal and Spain. Also new are seven new Discovery holiday experiences in Austria, Italy, Slovenia and Switzerland.

In Greece, we have added Kardamena and Kos town on the Island of Kos in the Aegean Sea with quiet beaches, rugged landscape and turquoise waters. Bubble Beach, named so for volcanic activity that creates little pockets of air in the water and the black pebble beach of Therma with its natural hot springs are worth a special mention.

On the Island of Crete, the village of Georgioupolis has two beaches separated by the River Almyros that runs through it. The beach to the west is Crete’s longest stretch of beach at over six miles long.

New on the Algarve is Carvoeiro, a small, picturesque town with a beautiful, sandy beach and golf courses nearby. Worth a visit are the bizarre rock formations around Albundeira beach and the popular Vale de Centeanes’ jaw dropping cliff backdrop.

On Majorca, new is Puerto Pollensa on the northernmost part of the island, one of the prettiest resorts on the entire north coast. A dramatic mountain range surrounds and shelters its wide, curving sandy bay, so the waters are calm and inviting.

The seven new Discovery holiday experiences are spread across the continent: Austria, Italy, Slovenia and Switzerland. Each package is different, but they all include flights, transfers, accommodation, as well as a selection of excursions, activities and other added value items such a free drinks and packed lunches.

In Austria, the new Discovery holiday experiences are to: Niederau (excursions to Salzburg, Krimml and Berchtesgaden, Tirolean evening); St Wolfgang (excursions to Berchtesgaden and Salzkammergut lakes, operetta evening) and the ‘Active Discovery’ Mayrhofen (rafting, canyoning or high rope course, excursion to Zillergrund Dam, skittles evening).

New is also the Classic Italian Discovery (day trips to the Dolomites, Verona and Venice) and the Bled Discovery in Slovenia (excursion to Ljubljana and Lake Bohinj, pletna boat ride and entrance to Bled Castle).

In Switzerland, the new Discoveries are Jungfrau (excursion to the Jungfraujoch and Schynige Platte, guided waterfalls tour) and Matterhorn (six day cableways pass, excursion to the Matterhorn glacier, Rothorn and Gornergrat mountains, trip to Lake Schwarzsee).

Prices start from £339 for seven nights’ self catering at the three-star Doria Apartments in Garda on Lake Garda, Italy, departing on either 1 or 8 May 2013 from Gatwick inclusive of transfers.
